WES Welcomes a Special Guest: Miss Georgia!
Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting a remarkable visitor—Miss Georgia! Audrey Kittila was crowned Miss Georgia 2025 on June 14, 2025. She proudly represented Georgia at the Miss America 2026 pageant, earning the title of 3rd Runner-Up. Currently, Audrey is pursuing her graduate studies at the University of Georgia, and her community service initiative, "Education for All," focuses on decreasing school dropout rates. During her visit, Miss Georgia engaged with several classrooms, including our Music class, where our students enjoyed a delightful violin performance! We are incredibly grateful for her visit!

This week, Mrs. Sova’s Pre-Kindergarten class at Woodbine Elementary explored the five senses. Students engaged their sense of touch by experiencing a variety of textures, including sandpaper, bubble wrap, sand, silly string, and water. Additionally, they used all five senses during a hands-on science experiment with Pop Rocks, observing, tasting, listening, touching, and smelling the reaction.

Mrs. Wheater's 4th grade students have been studying a unit on light, heat, and electricity. Today after reviewing safety measures to use with electricity, they learned about circuits, positive and negative poles on batteries, and built their own flashlights! An electrifying time was had by all!

Our students enjoyed the beautiful weather outside with their hands in the dirt! Thank you so much to Matt Jordan at J4 Blueberry Farms for his donation of topsoil and to the Hodge family for allowing us to use their tractor! Students in our agriculture classes were able to work together to get the raised bed garden ready for some plants!
